World Book Day 2019

7th March 2019
World Book Day 2019

The whole school have been celebrating a love of reading today with a wide range events linked to books and World Book Day.

Our theme this year was reading for pleasure and just enjoying a good book for no other reason than it's fun to read! Year 1 have had a number of mystery readers visiting them today to share their favourite stories, and all of the children have loved getting the chance to hear other adults read to them. Years 5 and 6 have visited other classes to read alongside younger pupils, sharing books and creating a real buzz around reading. Year 5 also took it one stage further by creating their own giant class text in which they were all given superpowers! We were also lucky enough to see a parade of costumes from our Early Years classes who were keen to show everyone how fantastic their costumes were.

Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed the chance to put reading and books front and centre in school today, and hopefully some of us will have discovered a new favourite book, or perhaps, rediscovered an old one.

Happy reading!
