Helping to fight cancer together

16th September 2019
Race for Life

Sam from Cancer Research UK joined us in assembly this morning to present the school with a giant cheque in more ways than one. Thanks to the efforts of all of our children, parents, governors and staff on a red hot day in June, we managed to raise an incredible £1833.75 to help Cancer Research UK fight cancer. She confirmed that this was an incredible achievement as we have raised more money than some large Secondary schools! The total equates to on average more than £10 per pupil who ran, and we couldn't be more proud of everyone.

Thanks to all parents and families who not only ran and supported on the day, but agreed to sponsor children and also take their forms to work.

We plan to make the event even bigger and better this year, and hopefully we can try to match or even beat this year's total. It's a real challenge, but something everyone in school is keen to meet.

Well done everyone!
