To conclude their work on the 'Britain at War' topic, Year 6 visited the Kibblesworth was memorial to observe the names of the servicemen and women who died in battle.Â
Each child chose one serviceman from the First World War, and when back in school they learned more about these men's lives - both during the war and before.
After some very thorough research, including scrutinising the 1911 Census to discover where the soldiers lived before leaving for the war, each child used their extensive notes to write up a short biography.
The whole class enjoyed learning more about the First and Second World Wars, and this project gave them the opportunity to consider how these conflicts affected people closer to home.
