JUNIORS VISIT ROBINWOOD @ DOBROYD CASTLE
On July 12th 2013, twenty six children from years 4, 5, and 6 visited Dobroyd Castle on a residential visit. It was a chance to try their hands at all sorts of outdoor and adventurous activities such as climbing, kayaking, raft building, caving, and archery to name but a few. Some of the highlights included the team building and problem solving exercises like Quest, and Piranha Pool, where the children had to work together to solve puzzles. They also tested their nerves on the zip wire and giant swing – not for the feint hearted.
As is always the case, the children were impeccably behaved and drew some envious glances from teachers of other schools who where not as fortunate as us. Every child tried every activity, encouraged each other, and represented the school brilliantly at all times. The leaders from Robinwood commented that they were possibly the best group of children they have had at the centre this year, and I know they were all greatly impressed.
We have all returned with lots of great memories, not to mention bruises. Well done to everyone who attended and made this weekend a real pleasure to be involved in.
