Wow, what fantastic world book day that was! First and foremost we would like to say a massive thank you- the effort that everyone put in was truly remarkable and made the day extra booktastic!
From Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter to Mr Men barely a book title was left out! All the staff were blown away by the effort that went into the children’s costumes- so thank you parents!
The day started off with the annual Book Fair, which had to take a brief hiatus at 9:30am for the eclipse. Luckily for us, when the clouds came over moments into the event we had miniature versions of literature classics to keep us entertained. Solar eclipse or watching Dumbo do the monkey bars? …its always going to be a tough call!
Back in class the children carried out a range of book related activities whilst the School Council got down to the nitty gritty task of picking the competition winners. Over the last few weeks children have been asked to send in their silly places to read photos (coming soon to the website), posters to encourage others to read and book mark ideas. Along with this the Councillors also had the almost impossible task of picking the best dressed from each class. We would just like to take this time to say a massive well done and a big thank you to everyone that entered! We were all overwhelmed by the amount of entries we had for each competition. Check out examples of all the entries at the next awards assembly.
All in all the day was a huge success! Roll on next year!
