This week has seen our pupils cycling at both ends of the school as Year 5 have been working hard to pass their cycling proficiency and Nursery and Reception have been getting to grips with their new bikes and trikes.
Braving the wind and rain, Year 5 were put through their paces first on the school site and then later on the roads around the village as they developed their cycling skills and became safe road users.
It was even more exciting in Early Years as they took delivery of their brand new trikes and bikes. Everyone was racing around the outdoor area and soon showing great balance and control on both two wheels and three. It was lovely to see the children working well together and co-operating with the bikes, taking turns and taking care not to bump into each other. Hopefully the bikes will be a firm favourite in Early Years for years to come.
The new school council also met this week, with each member asked to present their ideas about which charity the school should support. There were some great causes highlighted by all of the children, and they are going to present their ideas again in assembly on Monday. Hopefully we can follow the example of the recent McMillan Coffee Morning and we can raise even more money for some great causes.
