This week was dominated by the rescheduled Shine concerts which took place on Wednesday and Thursday. It was great to see everyone taking a deep breath and taking to the stage to impress the audiences across the four shows. It takes a great deal of confidence and courage to even stand on the stage, and for every one of our children to take the opportunity to sing shows us just how fantastic they all are – well done to everyone!
Next week will see everyone moving into their new classes as we all take part in transition week, giving all of our pupils their first chance to impress their new teachers with their enthusiasm and excellent behaviour. It also gives our Year 6 children the chance to visit Lord Lawson for three days, where I am sure they will impress and enjoy a great experience. We have all been working hard to be “Next year ready” in all of our classes, and I am sure that it will be a great experience for everyone involved.
We also had some great news this week as we discovered that we have won the Gateshead School Sports Partnership award for Innovation in School Sport, thanks to Mr Ridley and all of the staff who have developed the subject through initiatives such as the Sports and Yard Crews. The school will be receiving a lovely award at a gala evening later this month, and you will all be able to see it proudly displayed in our entrance after the 12th July. Congratulation to everyone involved in PE and sport at Kibblesworth who have helped us to win this prestigious award.
